REFLECTIONS OF SOUL MOTTO:

ROS is proud to bring the love and joy of dance to students of all ages and encourages continuous growth and technical advancement. 

 

Our staff annually trains with professional dance companies in New York City, Chicago and Kansas City to bring the latest dance combinations and new methods of training to our students.

ROS provides the opportunity for students ages 2.5-

adult to study beginning-professional levels of Classical Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Conditioning Dance & Irish Step Dance. through weekly lessons.  ROS is a non-competitive dance program.

 

Dance is a discipline that exercises the mind as sell as the body. 

Discipline, poise, physical stamina, self esteem and mental focus are all a part of dance.  All students will be treated with respect, equality and fairness.

 

The discipline and experience of dance should lead students positively in other areas of their lives.

REFLECTIONS OF SOUL Ballet Academy offers two different dance programs. 

​

​

THE OPEN PROGRAM is designed for the recreational student

who wishes to learn, have fun and is looking for an artistic outlet.   

Adult Classes are also offered in this division.   

THE OPEN PROGRAM Classes help the student to develop body and simple muscle awareness, strengthen motor skills and develop basic dance technique.   Students will find focus, attention span, creativity and basic dance vocabulary improved in these classes.   Classes offered in the Open Program are:  Jazz, Tap, Conditioning, Yoga, Dance with Me, Fitness Classes & Irish Step Dance.  One class per week is required of any class in the Open Program.    Ballet & Tap may be offered as a Combo Class for ages 3-6.  Jazz & Tap may be offered as a Combo Class for all age groups.  All Classes in the OPEN PROGRAM are 45 minutes long.

THE ACADEMY PROGRAM is the Ballet Program designed for the more serious ballet student who wants to achieve continuous progression through structured and traditional training in Classical Ballet Technique.   The Ballet Methods of  French, Cecchetti, Vagonava and The Royal Academy of Dance will be taught.

Progressing Ballet Technique Classes are also required for every ACADEMY dancer,

starting at age 7. 

Students in this program are required to show commitment, desire, passion, energy, dancer readiness in all ability levels in

order to stay in this program.

ACADEMY PROGRAM classes encourage the students to set personal goals, improve classical ballet technique, develop and improve muscle memory, improve core strength & flexibility and learn dance vocabulary. Students

will also be required to demonstrate ballet technique during ROS Testing Sessions held twice per year. 

​

The Children Division classes for ages 3-7 will include  Pre-Ballet, Ballet & Creative Movement.

Contemporary and Modern Dance elements will be introduced in Classical Ballet, Levels 2-6.

The Required Classes for ACADEMY are Classical Ballet & Progressing Ballet Technique.

DIRECTOR

​

Kristine K Stohs brings 30 years of professional experience to ROS, having operated ROS in Wisconsin, Arizona & Nebraska. 

Kristine has been interviewed by Dance Teacher Now magazine and is listed in the National Register of Who's Who in Executives and Professionals. 

Kristine has received training from Sherry Holzapfel, Omaha Ballet, Creighton University, Omaha Community Playhouse, University of NE-Lincoln, Green Bay School of Dance, Milwaukee Ballet, River North Dance CO, Steps on Broadway, Joffrey Ballet, Joel Hall, David Howard, Dupree, Tremaine, Al Gilbert, Chicago National Dance Masters, New York on the Road, Dance Educators of America, West Coast Dance Explosion and DMI.   

Kristine choreographs and judges for show choirs, dance teams, ice staking teams, gymnastic teams, cheerleaders, musicals and competitions.

 

TEACHING STAFF

Ms. Sarah Stockwell  has been dancing and training since the age of 4. 

She has received Classical Ballet , Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary and Lyrical training. 

While in high school and college she participated in competitive dance and in 1996 was featured in Who Who's of Dance.

Sarah will be teaching a variety of Fitness Classes, Yoga , Ballet, Tap and Jazz for ROS.

She is a regular in the teen/adult ballet classes at ROS and participates in our annual production.

Sarah is an Accountant with MBA from  ESU and is the mother of three children.
